Check your attitude at the door!


One thing that sale professionals overlook is how they are perceived by their prospect. It’s not just about your product, your company or your qualifications. An effective sales professional has to sell him or herself first. This means you have need to demonstrate personal characteristics consistent with likability. Now I’m not saying change yourself or become someone that your are not, but I am telling you to put your best foot forward. Remember, emotions are contagious. If your happy and full of energy your client to be too (even if they don’t’ seem like it). I’ve seen so many sales professionals totally loose rapport with the prospect because have absolutely no charisma or social skills.  At this point your product could be the best in the world but the prospect wont buy from you because they don’t like you. You have to sell yourself just and much or even MORE than your product.

To summarize:

Keep positive, keep energy up and make sure you have effectively built rapport with your prospect before trying to present to them.
