Build that customer relationship: most important sales tip

I can’t stress how important it is to build that relationship with the customer. Now notice I said “customer”, not “prospect”.  Once the sale is made, keeping a solid relationship with the customer can be the most cost effective way for you to retain or up sell them. Some customers will stay with you forever even if they don’t really need your product. I was able to see an example of this the other day when a competitor of mine called one of my customers. They had tried everything in the book to try and get my client to switch to them. They bad mouthed, slashed prices and made themselves overly attractive. What they couldn’t provide is the value of my relationship with the customer.  As a sales executive, I have earned a certain amount of trust and respect from that customer. This is something that cannot be purchased and the customer would rather stay with me because he or she knows how I operate. The relationship that one keeps with the client is worth all the money in the world. It is also a great source of referrals for me. As you move forward keep this sales tip near and close as it the one of the most important rules for a salesperson to know.. Good Luck!
